Reading out the lead judgement on the case, Justice Uwani Abba-Aji said on behalf of the Supreme Court that the evidence presented against Tambuwal by Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was of no value. Tambuwal contested for the 2019 governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
