NDDC PROBE: Nsima Ekere spits fire as he floods the media space

His Excellency Mr. Nsima Ekere, have flooded the media space following the NDDC Probe.

In the wake of President Muhammadu Buhari’s order directing a Forensic Audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) under the direct supervision of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Senator Godswill Akpabio, CON,

several misguided statements drawing mischievous innuendoes alleging that the Audit is targeted at the immediate past Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Governorship Candidate of the APC in the March 9, 2019 Governorship Elections in Akwa Ibom State,

Having elevated such puerile narratives to unimaginable proportions, our attention has also been drawn to an ambitious but poorly cobbled and error-ridden report claiming amongst others, that Mr. Nsima Ekere sees the audit exercise as “witch-hunting” and has therefore vowed not to “go down alone”.

The said verbose and reckless report is clearly a poor mimicry of Mr. Ekere. This is so because there is a unanimous universal acknowledgement that Mr. Ekere is not given to careless talk and flippancy in speech. It is therefore clear that the loquaciousness captured in the report is a figment of the warped imagination of the writer.

In the first place, Mr. Nsima Ekere has been out of the country and only returned to Nigeria about two days ago. It is therefore questionable at what point he would have met with supporters or close allies to discuss NDDC probe.

Secondly, Mr. Ekere served the Commission as Managing Director/CEO for a little under three years of the over 19 years existence of the Commission. It is infantile that an audit of the Commission from year 2000 will imply an audit of Mr. Ekere’s stint at the NDDC!

We note that while serving as helmsman of the interventionist agency, Mr. Ekere initiated the 4-R Initiative of restoring the NDDC’s core mandate, restructuring its balance sheet, reforming its processes and reaffirming a commitment to doing what is right and proper at all times in facilitating the sustainable development of the Niger Delta region.

Mr. Ekere holds the unwavering view that the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) must be responsive to the yearnings and aspirations of Niger Deltans and no effort should be spared in bringing this to fruition.

We urge the writer and his sponsors and indeed other mischief makers to seek better ways of engaging their time. The leaders of APC in Akwa Ibom State are focused on supporting President Muhammadu Buhari to succeed and no divisive tactics will drive a wedge amongst them.
