Buhari meet Adamawa governor, state leaders in Aso Rock

The Nation reports that Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, led the delegation to the Presidential Villa. Legit.ng gathers that the meeting started around 2.58pm at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.

Others present at the meeting are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF), Boss Mustapha, who hails from Adamawa state and chief of staff to the president, Abba Kyari. Earlier, President Buhari met behind closed doors with the country’s service chiefs. The meeting, was held at the president’s office at the presidential villa. The meeting was focused on the security situation in the country including banditry, kidnapping and armed robbery.

The president stated this while responding to concerns raised by a delegation of Zamfara advocacy group on Monday, June 12, in Abuja. He said the military and the police had been taking drastic measures to check the activities of some local elements threatening the peace of the communities, including preventing farmers from going to their farms.

Buhari said: “I assure you, I get daily reports from people in the field and traditional rulers. I also meet regularly with the leadership of the security agencies, and they have been directed to deploy their personnel to secure the society.” Describing as unfortunate the failure of local leadership in intelligence-gathering, the president enjoined community and traditional leaders to monitor closely the activities of people in their domain with a view to assisting law enforcement agencies to secure the communities.
